ABSTRACT

This article researches the organizational culture and its influence on the application of the quality system. The main elements of the quality system have been specified, which include: organizational structure, responsibilities, resources, actions, processes and culture, which unifies all of these elements. In order to understand the place and role of the organizational culture in the quality system, it was necessary to briefly explain what the content of the organizational culture is, list the characteristics of the successful organizational culture, explain the changes of the organizational culture and list the effects which the organizational culture has on the organization, management and performances. The research results indicate that the strong culture which represents the set of specific values, convictions and attitudes shared by the members of one organization is the source of the competitive advantage and superior performances. In order to implement the modern concept of quality it is necessary to build the new attitudes and new values within the organization, to form the organizational culture in which the crucial behavior premise is the quality created by everybody in the organization. A new culture is needed, and that is the culture of quality.
