ABSTRACT

The second half of the last century was characterized by rapid development of computer industry, which soon became the main prerequisite for the development of all economy sectors. Taking this into account, there is increased need for professionals who will be able to link technical and management communities in the segment of business. The result was the start of studies of business informatics, under the same, similar or different names, usually within business schools as a undergraduate study. However, developments in the field of business, especially computing, in the new millennium, made this study independent, with a tendency to become organizational unit within university hierarchy. This paper aims to present the theoretical basis of curriculum and practical example of Business Informatics study, which is the joint effort of the Faculty of Economics and Faculty of Information Technologies, University "Dzemal Bijedic" of Mostar.
